The Experience

Before You Go

Hydrate before and during the ride

Temperatures in the desert rise quickly—carry at least 1–1.5 L of water in a hydration pack; drink small amounts often.

Use the practice run

Take the pre‑ride practice seriously—get comfortable with throttle braking and gear shifts on loose dirt before the singletrack.

Protect against the sun

Sunscreen, UV sunglasses and a neck buff reduce sun exposure during exposed climbs and the vista stop.

Watch for loose rock on descents

Singletrack sections can be loose—choose conservative speed on corners and follow instructor lines downhill.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Short side trails with shaded rock alcoves ideal for a cool pause
  • A small rocky saddle used by locals for sunrise views toward the gulf

Wildlife

  • Dorcas gazelle (occasionally spotted at dawn)
  • Desert lark and other small passerines adapted to arid slopes

Conservation Note

Stay on designated trails in the nature reserve to protect fragile desert crust and plant life; packing out waste and minimizing noise helps preserve bird and small‑mammal habitat.

The Eilat Mountains sit beside the southern end of historic trade routes into the Red Sea; the shoreline has long been a junction of maritime and overland exchange.

Common Questions

Do I need prior mountain biking experience?

No advanced skills are required; the guide includes a practice session and the e‑motor eases climbs, but basic bike handling and comfort on loose dirt are expected.

What's the minimum age and weight limit?

Booking asks for age, height and weight so guides can match bikes; contact the operator for exact limits as they assess suitability case‑by‑case.

What happens in bad weather?

Tours are canceled for unsafe conditions; the operator will reschedule or refund if canceled at least 24 hours before departure or due to weather.

Are helmets and pads provided?

Yes—helmets, knee and elbow pads are supplied and fitted during the safety briefing, though you can bring your own gear if preferred.
